A lot of women in perimenopause can start to feel rage and anger. I often have women saying to me that they feel really angry with their husbands, colleagues or family members. This can be caused by different factors as the body is changing, with hormones fluctuating, lack of sleep and high stress levels. Many women will benefit from medical interventions such as HRT but as perimenopause coach I help women with the mental aspect of this.
Women have spent so may years pleasing others, saying yes when they really want to say no. Putting other people’s needs before their own. Perimenopause is a start when we can not continue any longer disrespecting ourselves and have to start honouring our own needs.
When we say yes to others when we really don’t want to, we can feel angry inside. We need to go on a journey in our inner world to discover what do we really want? What do we want to do to make ourselves happy? We start to have boundaries with ourselves and other people. We start to say to no to others. People do not like it when we start to make these changes as we are not behaving how we have normally behaved.
We have to start living our life for ourself now! Follow our own dreams instead of living other people’s dreams. So many people are in jobs because that is what other people expected of them. Instead of following their own dreams and passions.
Lot’s of women are stuck in relationships for the sake of the the children, trying to hold it all together for them. Or the fear of not being able to financially support themselves. The fear of breaking out of these situations and the chaos it can bring, can stop us taking the brave step to make changes.
Going through the process can be messy and hard but once you get through, the other side there is a whole new life waiting for you!
